The Merchants

Shops, workshops, studios and galleries

The merchants on the Merchants' Bridge in Erfurt continue a centuries-old tradition. Even in the Middle Ages, traders offered their wares here - from spices and fabrics to artisan treasures. Today, the small, lovingly designed shops house handicrafts, jewellery, antiques and regional specialities. The Merchants’ Bridge, the longest bridge in Europe lined with houses along its entire span, remains a lively place of trade and encounters.
